Trying to use an old tp Link 740n v4 to extend WiFi signal, and use ports.
I have dd wrt c3.10.r31571 firmware installed.
I cloned the primary routers ssid security type and password with ath0 set to client bridged. Set the gateway and sms as the primary routers up 10.0.0.1 , this router is 10.0.0.2 same, subnet masks. Turned off the security, changed operating mode to router.
I can access the primary router from a client connected to it but not the internet.
Ok now the wifi is working, I did nothing just left it alone for a few hours and came back, but if I connect the pc via ethernet to this router it wont work, only the wifi of the device allows internet connection. Wired I can connect to the tplink and the primary router but no internet connection. Bewildered as to what would cause that.
The wireless isnt working either, was for a few hours then that cut out. Can someone give me a link to a newer guide or tell me what I am doing wrong.
I have my verizon fios router/modem connected to a ac1200 Netgear 6200 router. Then I am trying to get this TPlink 740n to connect to the netgear 6200. Setup and problems above.

factory default and start over
http://dd-wrt.com/wiki/index.php/Repeater_Bridge#Qualcomm_Atheros
Try the old wiki, the only dif is instead of Auto use Manual
Follow above instructions above from Broadcom except:
6. Open the Wireless -> Basic Settings tab
Physical Interface Section
Wireless Mode : Client Bridge (routed)
Default Gateway Mode : Manual
Gateway : Point to Gateway for network, usually IP of primary router
Wireless Network Mode : Must Match Primary Router
Wireless Network Name(SSID) : Must Match Primary Router exactly including exact case- Make sure you spell this correctly
Wireless Channel : Must Match Primary Router (This will disappear once you put it in RB mode, and isn't needed)
Wireless SSID Broadcast : Enable
Network Configuration : Bridged
Save
Virtual Interfaces Section
Add
Wireless Network Name(SSID) : Same as the primary router (v24SP2 I have not had any problems with signal dropping)
[NOTE] - You CAN try using the same SSID but it usually will not work properly. Many have had random disconnects and/or no connection if the SSID's are the same.
Wireless SSID Broadcast : Enable
Save
if ports dont work use
swconfig dev eth1 set enable_vlan 1
swconfig dev eth1 set apply _________________ TP-Link: TL-WR741ND V4
